The total export cargos of 30,451 tonnes comprised of 14,051 tonnes of containerised cargo; 600 tonnes of clinkers and 15,800 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 2,214 containers comprising of 1,242 containers import and 972 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 332 of 20's and 425 of 40's loaded while 40 of 20's and 10 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 396 of 20's and 279 of 40's loaded containers while 12 of 20's and 03 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were six ships namely MP The Belichick, Cape Male, Kota Nabil, Jasmine Express, Canvas Back and Crown Virtue carrying containers, oil tanker, cement and clinkers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were four vessels viz. X-Press Annapurna, ER Felixstowe, Kota Nabil and Butinah carrying containers and rock phosphate respectively currently at the berths.
A cargo volume of 153,775 tonnes comprising 133,345 tonnes of import cargo and 20,430 tonnes of export cargo including 2,760 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 133,345 tonnes includes 38,432 tonnes of coal; 27,500 tonnes of LNG; 8,000 tonnes of palm oil; 9,262 tonnes of canola; 2,461 tonnes of LPG; 1,900 tonnes of chemical and 45,790 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 20,430 tonnes includes 2,881 tonnes of rice; 10,899 tonnes of cement and 6,650 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 2,760 containers comprising of 2,410 containers import and 350 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. There was one ship namely IVS North Berwick carrying coal sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while three more ships namely Conti Cosmos, Thor Insuvi and Sea Harvest carrying containers, coal and chemical respectively expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of ten vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice, coal, chemical, LNG and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours. As many as eight vessels viz. Nordmed, W-Star, Johnny-P, African Lunde, That Hens, Santa Rita, Al-Gatara and NCC Amal carrying containers, soyabean, coal, LNG and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were six ships viz. Nordmed, Maersk Kensington, Santa Rita, South Athens, Ginga Marlin and Al-Gatara carrying containers, coal, chemical and LNG respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Engro Elengy Terminal respectively on Tuesday. There were two ships namely Maersk Kensington and Ginga Marlin carrying containers and chemical respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while another ship namely MOL Gateway carrying containers is due to arrive on Wednesday.
